TIM's Operations desk prepares physical paperwork for a model railroad. During a run, the physical car card follows the car; digital status changes are optional.
- Add owned rolling stock to Inventory
Record useful car identity such as item name, category, road name, road number, scale, and current layout track.
- Define locations
Create stations, yards, industries, interchanges, and staging areas.
- Add tracks and spots
Place each track inside a location. Record capacity, purpose, accepted car types, and numbered spot or service rules. These details appear in layout and session paperwork.
- Print permanent car cards
Download one identification card for each eligible owned rolling-stock car. Keep that card with the car or in the appropriate location rack.
- Create waybill inserts
Choose one or more cars, origin track, destination track, optional destination spot, commodity, required loaded or empty state, and return or next-cycle instructions. TIM prints an individual insert for every selected car so each card can move independently.
- Add train or job cards
Name the train or switching job, record its route and planned equipment, and add crew instructions.
- Plan an operating session
Select the train cards and waybill moves for that run, add dispatcher notes, and print the session packet.
