Plan the run #
- Create the required locations, tracks, cars, waybills, and train or job cards.
- Open Operations and choose Plan session.
- Enter a session name, date, and status.
- Select the train or job cards that crews will run.
- Select the waybill inserts and car moves included in this session.
- Add dispatcher or crew notes and save.
Print the session packet #
Choose Print session packet beside the saved session. The packet includes the selected train or job cards, a switch list, destination spots, commodity and load state, return instructions, card-handling guidance, and the applicable industry or spot rules.
During the run #
Crews carry the matching physical car cards and leave each card in the destination rack when setting out the car. Use the printed packet as crew paperwork; the general Layout operations reference is not a replacement for the session-specific packet.
Complete and reconcile #
After the run, choose Complete & reconcile only if you want TIM's recorded track locations to match the completed session. TIM marks each non-held waybill delivered and moves its cars to the recorded destination track. Held waybills remain unchanged for later handling.
Review the physical railroad before reconciling. Correct a waybill or use Held when a car did not reach the planned destination.
