TIM offers catalog, AI, barcode, import, and manual starting points while preserving one review boundary: nothing becomes an owned record until it is reviewed and saved.
Start with Product Catalog #
Search Product Catalog for a verified manufacturer product, choose Add to Inventory, review the proposed reusable facts, and add private ownership details.
Start with My-Trains AI #
Open My-Trains AI under Collection, upload one useful photo, confirm the selected provider and displayed charge, analyze it, review the ranked catalog evidence and proposed fields, then explicitly save the reviewed item.
Start with barcode entry #
Enter or scan the code from the packaging, review any Product Catalog match, and confirm the item form before saving.
Enter manually #
- Open Inventory and choose Add inventory item.
- Enter a useful item name and category.
- Complete applicable manufacturer, model number, railroad, road number, scale, gauge, quantity, status, and condition fields.
- Add purchase, value, storage, DCC, barcode, photo, document, or note information when known.
- Use Installed in item for a decoder, speaker, lighting board, or similar component.
- Use Parent train set for equipment belonging to a set record.
- Save the item and review its detail page.
Use separate records when items have different road numbers, condition, values, DCC settings, photos, or histories. Use quantity for truly interchangeable stock such as identical track sections.
For a sold, traded, donated, or disposed item, change the lifecycle status instead of deleting it when the ownership history remains useful.
