Before you begin #
- Use TIM 3.3.4 or later.
- You need permission to edit the destination TIM inventory.
- Back up important JMRI and TIM data before a large migration.
Export from JMRI #
For one locomotive, open DecoderPro, select the locomotive, and choose Export Entry from the Roster menu. Save the entry as an XML file.
For the entire roster, choose Export Complete Roster and save the `.roster` package.
Preview in TIM #
- Open the destination inventory.
- Choose Import & Export.
- Find JMRI and RailModeller Pro interoperability.
- Under JMRI locomotive roster, choose the exported `.xml` or `.roster` file.
- Select Preview JMRI roster.
- Review the detected fields, duplicate match, warnings, and proposed action for every locomotive.
- Choose Create, Update, Add quantity, Attach, or Skip as appropriate.
- Apply the import only after the preview is correct.
TIM uses its duplicate matcher before applying an import. Previewing a file does not create or change inventory records.
