Store a RailModeller Pro layout file in TIM

TIM can keep a native RailModeller Pro layout document with the protected references for an inventory.

Upload a layout reference #

1. Open the TIM inventory.
2. Choose References.
3. Add a new reference.
4. Enter a descriptive title such as Main layout plan – July 2026.
5. Choose the `.railmodeller` file.
6. Add notes describing the layout version or purpose.
7. Save the reference.

TIM stores the document as a protected reference. It does not convert the layout into inventory items, display the track plan, or read track positions and geometry.

Use a new reference or clearly dated filename for important milestones. Keep an independent backup of the original layout document; TIM should not be its only copy.
