TIM provides server-side search, combined filters, sorting, pagination, and saved views for larger collections. Open Inventory to begin.
Search #
Use Search inventory to look for identifying information such as item name, manufacturer, model number, railroad, road number, inventory number, DCC number, or notes. Use a distinctive value when possible. Searching for a full model number or road number usually produces better results than a broad word such as “car.”
Filters #
Filters can be combined. Available filters may include category, lifecycle status, manufacturer, scale, photograph presence, valuation coverage, and other collection attributes. Apply filters to update the results. Choose Reset when you want to return to the complete inventory.
Useful review combinations include:
- Missing photographs plus Owned status.
- Unvalued items plus a high-value category such as Locomotives.
- A manufacturer and scale when preparing a display or operating session.
- Sold, traded, donated, or disposed status when reviewing collection history.
- A specific category plus storage location when packing or moving items.
Cards and Spreadsheet #
Cards emphasize photographs and quick identification. Spreadsheet is better for comparing fields across many items. The spreadsheet includes columns such as item, category, status, manufacturer, model number, road number, quantity, scale, condition, DCC No., storage, value, and inventory number. Select a sortable column heading to change the order.
Saved views and bulk actions #
When saved views are available, save a frequently used combination of search, filters, sort, and display settings. Give it a specific name such as “N scale locomotives missing photos.” Bulk actions should be used only after reviewing the filtered result set. Confirm that the selection does not include records outside the intended category or status.
Select an item name or photograph to open its detail page. Use Previous and Next on the detail page to work through the current inventory sequence efficiently.
